so i just bought a 2009 klx completely stock with low mileage and though it seemed "perfect" when i bought it i have noticed a couple of things i would like to correct.....
1- chipped paint on the motor and would like to make that look better... just paint it maybe? is there good match, i have read (i think on here) that
aluminum engine paint works well) any other suggestions or ideas?
2-some various chips on other silver/aluminum parts which look to be the same color as the motor and some black parts also looking for a good match of course 👍
3-it seems that when i am on the trails first gear seems like it is revving a bit to high and second is chugging and lugging, what gives there? is there a fix or other wisdom?
4- the left rear directional was broken (including a right angle piece) and though it works i would like to fix it, dont care to much about it being stock but prefer function over form....
5-the brake lever was bent and would like to rplace it where can i buy an inexpensive relacement?
thats about it... i do love to turn a wrench on my bikes, cheers my new to me klx250!

244493 METALLIC SILVER: Is a very close match to the later silver frames. 1/2 shade light. You can touch up masking off at a weld and can hardly notice. A black primer might bring it down to a perfect match.
7887 STAINLESS STEEL: This was my answer to the swingarm paint on my 94 KX250. I only had photos to compare since my arm was bare when I got it, but it looks like a good match. Appliance paint, but I'm not sure how durable it will be on a bike.
DE1650 CAST COAT ALUMINUM: Thanks (again) to Jim B., this is a dead ringer for the silver engine paints Kawasaki used on cylinders, etc.
These aerosols do not hold up to harsh chemicals like brake clean or gasoline. If you want to protect your paint job, you can use a 2-part aerosol clear available here: http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd_2_part_2k_aerosol.cfm
My 2 cents..it's a dirt bike, they're supposed to get some bumps and bruises, consider it a badge of honor. As for the turn signal and brake lever try Cycle World if you have one close by or eBay.
i completed the front brake line and foot pegs. i used galfer ss braided line.
the master cylinder cover screws were fairly soft and i recommend JIS screwdrivers, vessels are reasonable on amazon. took alot of bleeding to get the air out ....maybe my imagination but the modulation seems better now... either way the front brakes work great now.
for foot pegs i went the budget route..... but fit nicely.
oem banjo bolt vs galfer ..... i reused oem with new copper washers stock pegs that are too small imho a budget ebay peg.....fits nicely the new galfer ss line
swapped out the broken rear directional..... it was a fair amount of stuff removed.... seat, tool kit, rear covers.... not hard but was more than i would've thought...... slightly a fiddly pain fishing the connector through that just big enough (or not quite big enough) hole under the back plastic
