1200 miles
I had mine in at 1000 or 1500 I can't remember, but I took it to the dealer because the tapping noise was a little loud, they changed out the Cam with its ACR, and then at 2500 I had the cam chain adjuster replaced all under warranty. While it was in both times I had the valves checked. They didn't charge me for checking the valves since they were already doing the work.
Lube your key switches and/or complain to get new ones...Or both I guess..
My 09 suckde..Well I do keep it outside naked to snow and iceo..Ignition key cylinder locked up......Its under warranty so Id complain about something If I had 2 do it again....I went out of pocket for about $200 squid..For new locks installed..I didnt want to wait and thought I could do it myself...Double wrong.....
If your not the best at doing things yourself....Screw it let the dealer fine tune it...

I didn't take mine in.
The first service was due at 600 miles. I just went through the periodic maintence chart in the owner's manual and completed all of the items. Most of them are/were inspection items. Basically, they change the oil/filter, check and see if anything is leaking, and check bolts to make sure they're tight. I think they quoted me somewhere around $135-$150. By the time I got to 600 miles, I was on the third oil/filter change. I was not about to pay them ten times what it costs me to change the oil...

Yeah I've changed the oil, thats no problem. The 1200 mi checks alot of internal stuff that I don't have the equipment for, or have never done. I'm definitely going to take mine as I just checked my mileage (I record my miles and fill ups) and my MPG has tanked 10MPG from 70 to 60, and I have been getting misses every now and then while I am riding. I hope its not to expensive, I don;t start work till June :-/
