'09 KLX250SF Bad Gas Or Something Else?
#14
I haven't looked at the KLX, but, my KLR has a wire to the coil that can be dislodged. If you're truly not getting spark, I'm afraid it would have to be electrical...hopefully something as simple as a coil wire that is loose, or even the spark-plug wire. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Replace spark plug. Kill switch? Kick stand cutout? Pinched wires? CDI box is $342 online!

I wouldn't think moving a couple things would cause the bike to stop working though. Only one electrical bit was moved, whatever box is attached to the side of the airbox and then moving the battery. I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow and letting them sort it out, hopefully it's covered under my warranty

guess the battery and overflow can fit underneath the seat...do you have any pointers before i tackle this project?
sorry to hear about the problems after...how was the problem fixed?

I worked on my bike one day and moved some stuff around under the seat:
I wasn't paying attention and ran out of gas, so I grabbed a gas can and filled it up about halfway. I think the gas may have been bad because after riding it for a few minutes, the bike was misfiring like crazy and then it finally died. It was backfiring, flames were coming out, and there was a bit of smoke while I was trying to restart it.
I drained the fuel, emptied the float bowl, cleaned the jets, and it seemed to be running ok while it was idling. Once I rode it for a few minutes, it began misfiring again and died. Was it possible that I ruined the bike some other way? I don't think the spark plug went bad because it will run until it's warmed up then it goes crazy.
I need some help, this is my daily driver over the summer and I can't get it to run correctly
