Default 09 crank case cover removal , gasket replacement.

is it hard to remove the crankcase to replace the gasket ? i think i have a small leak in the gasket.

im talking about the left side (im pretty sure thats the crank or i think its called the stator )...the fat thing that sticks out behind the shift mechanism , where you can unscrew the little plug and turn over the engine.

Take a look at this diagram and see if you can tell which gasket is leaking. left side of page, [Engine & Exhaust > OEM Parts > Engine Cover(s)] Maybe its just the o-ring behind the plug that allows access to the crankshaft? Otherwise, there are all the part numbers for gaskets in that area.

To answer your question, no, its not hard to remove these parts to replace a gasket. Just figure out the order of operation for removal of the parts and remember it for reassembly.
