Just put the big gun full system on my 07 KLX250 (thanks to slap drum for the system)

Huge difference! No jetting yet, just took the lid off the airbox and turned the fuel screw out roughly 1.5 turns.

and sounds sweet as! once you change the exhaust on these things you really realise how bad the stock system is!

Well its a 300 kit, k&n filter and jetting next!

Then eventually some motard wheels and thats that!

 

I recommend putting the air box lid back on until you re-jet. If you are still running with stock jetting, you are risking heat damage to the top-end because you are running way too lean.

You should be safe with the air lid...and it still sounds badass

well due to the weather not gonna get a chance to ride it until the jet and 300 kit go on anyhow.

Yeah, I might have done the same thing back in 2006 (letting the excitement get the better of me), but i kind of did my mods in reverse order. I dropped in a Yosh pumper fully jetted for a race exhaust, but still had the stock 'pea shooter' installed. It still sounded like a wheezy little 'girly bike' until my aftermarket exhaust arrived, but the front wheel sure came-up easily.

 

I highly doubt you'll stop there...next thing you know you'll be calling bill blue for one of his big bore kits!
