I have to agree with Iowaguy on this one. What's the big deal? I've used both and personally I find the MX style easier because you don't have to adjust anything after removing the rear tire which I do for tire changes more frequently than I do chain adjustments. As for seizing, just use some anti-seize on the bolt. I use this stuff:
Personally, I found the snails to be somewhat clumsy to use, get one side right and it would slip out of position while doing the other side. Needed three hands. On the up side, as long as you matched up the numbers, you couldn't mis-align the rear wheel. With the MX style adjuster, I just count the threads and make them the same on either side. Same difference.

Yeah, I guess if you owned your bike from new, you could take pristine care of your screw adjusters.
But I've had a few used MX'ers (CR's, KX's) that have had seized and stripped adjusters...
Always hated em. The snails are easy - just use your knee to keep the back tire tensioned against the snails
while you set their position, then snug up the axle nut.
