ZL600 choke
Greetings all ... I just picked up a 1986 ZL600 Eliminator. Nice bike and runs well. One question I have, and I did a search about it and did not see anyone else with the same problem/question, is I have to hold the choke lever or it springs back into the "choke off" position. Is this normal for the ZL600?
I looked for a nut or tension adjustment, but there does not appear to be any. Most other carbureted bikes I have had, the choke will stay on until you push it off. Let me know if I am missing something or it's just the way it is. Here in New Hampshire in early April, it's still cold out and the bike needs some time to warm up, but I have to sit and hold the choke lever for 5+ minutes or so to warm up, then it runs fine.
I do not know if there is supposed to be some resistance in the choke cable itself, at the lever, or at the carb, but I could not see anything except the spring at the carbs that defaults the position to choke off.
Thanks!
