just an opinion.....i guess i am the lazy one

 

I pulled the generator off and sure enough the belt was broke. There was rubberstrips all in the generator.The belt looked fairly new. I checked the generator and it turns easily. I know when I took off the tank to clean it, and put it back on, I tighten the clamp too far and caused a gas leak. I'm guessing that gas got inside the generator,and weakend the belt.
