Default No Top End Power - 2009 Ninja 250R

I was out riding last week and ended up riding straight into a ditch (to avoid gravel on the road and going down on the pavement) at about 25-30mph. I ended up sliding on the left side of my bike. I had to leave the bike on it's side off the road for at least 3-4hrs before I could get a trailer to go pick it up.

All that was broken on the bike was the plastic around the passenger seat on the left side, the left front turn signal, the footpeg holder on the left side, and the bar connecting the shifter to the transmission. So I waited a week for the parts to come in and I get the bike all fixed up.

Now I can't get the bike to go past 8,000 - 9,000 rpms when the bike is in 6th gear, in lower gears I can get it to redline if I want.

I've been suggested to look at the spark plugs and make sure no oil got on them while the bike was on it's side, and to check the air filter and clean it. What else might I want to check? Has anyone else been in this situation?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Welcome to KF.

So 6th gear is the only culprit on wfo? (wide Fng Open)

umm, I don't think 5th quite got all the way up to redline, but it got to 9,000 - 10,000 rpms.

Edit: I pull the plugs out and they look pretty fouled, going to buy new ones in the morning and see how it works out.

Edit 2: replaced the plugs and still no luck, it gets up to 8,500 rpm faster, but then just stays there. pulled the plugs out again to check them and they're covered in soot again.

Couldn't figure out what it was, so we took it to a guy we know, he took it apart and figured out what was wrong. Apparently I had tossed a receipt in the compartment under the passenger seat and that had gotten down into the area under the rider seat and then sucked in front of the air intake vent and so not nearly enough air was getting in while it was at high rpms. Now it runs great 'cause he went over just about everything trying to figure it out. Most expensive mountain dew I'll ever buy ($180 ish)...

hahaha, my CC is so light Michael Jackson would have taken it home. Let alone having any Trunk space for a wallet.
