Default New Boots problem

Friend of mine gave me a set of icon riding boots, only problem is once I put the on and try to change gears my foot wont fit between the foot rest and gear shifting lever. Is there any way I can adjust the hight of the gear lever or the foot rest to fit my boot in there Ive tryed looking and seeing how to do it but bike 1 me 0.

Don't know what you are riding, but on my bike, under the shift lever is a rod that goes from the back of the lever
to the shaft of the tranny. There is a nut on each end of the rod. They are left handed threads. Loosen them up and spin
rod. You will see the lever raise or lower, which ever way you are spinning the rod. Adjust to fit, then tighten the nuts.

i agree with Kevyztoy. just don't adjust it to much or you might have probles going to the next gear when you shift.
