I pulled a stupid
OK so I pulled a stupid with my new 07 Vulcan. I have 1100 miles on it and I changed the oil a few hundred miles ago. Unfortunatly I used automotive oil which caused my clutch to slip. So last night i switched back to motorcycle oil after reading about the cause of it. The problem is that my clutch still slips. Any ideas? (BTW I have ~2.6 quarts of oil in now)
Also I have a question about oil levels. My manual says to put in 3.2 quarts of oil when i change it, but when i do that it seems like there is too much oil in the engine. After I add that much I run it for a few minutes and then check it and the "viewing window is full of oil" I then have to drain out like a liter of oil to but it at the point where it is between the top and bottom. So My next question is how much is too much or too little?

Too add on to this my clutch only seems to slip when i am at higher RPM's or giving it any power. In 6th gear I can run 55MPH with no issues, but when i hit 65 it slips occasionally and when I hit 75 it slips frequently. Also I hardly ever slip when I am lanesharing through bumper to bumper traffic
Clutch adjustment???
Unless you were using energy conserving automotive engine oil, you shouldn't have a problem with regular 'ol car oil. I use castrol GTX 10w40 on both my bikes without any problems.

Here is my thinking:
Even after you scrape the discs, the plates still will hold the teflon/additives from the other oil. Do I have proof? no. But that is my concern. Will warranty cover it? "I know nuthinnnnngggg" Gotta love Hogans Heroes
