Default Bad electrical mistake

We need help..

My brother had his battery on the charger.. When i went to it back in his 2K vulcan 1500. I crossed the Battery cables, sparks everywhere.. Had to buy a new battery. This time made battery connections correctely. Turned on key no power anywhere. Do i feel like a dope..

Question: Where and what do i start troubleshooting first? Any help anyone can give would be greatly welcomed..

Make sure you check the main fuse also. It's not in the fuse box with the rest of them. It's probably in a little socket right next to it with a rubber cover over it.
