Stiffing up the compression about 3-4 clicks

A 250 ZZR? and doing bigger jumps? and you are complaining about a street shock? By the way, do they make a 250 ZZR?

The ZZR is the Canadian/rest of the world 250 model. They are much nicer than ours in the states.

If your Ninja is like the 250R sold in the U.S, the rear shock is non-adjustable. You should be able to upgrade to the adjustable 500R shock though.

No modifications are needed to install the 500R shock.

Sounds like to me you don't have your suspension set properly. You need to get the sag set for the rider weight, both shocks and forks. Go here to help you get them set right. http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0006_susp/

Get a couple of buddy's to help you out. Should only take you about an hour to get it set right. Then some minor tweaking on the rebound and compression and you will be good to go.
