Hopefully I am in the right section for this post..I am a newbie so bare with me. I just bought an used 1996 kx250 racing dirt bike. I am having a starting problem. The guy I bought it from said it runs great. Once I finally get it started it does seem to run ...ok... He said it has a newly rebuilt engine with all race teck.. Pistons and coil and gears and is water cooled. Also new racing carb and shocks and racing grab clutch..the whole feast. I get it home which is 2 hours away from me and try to start it. The bike looks bueatiful..like new all shiny. It wouldn't start. I went with premium fuel and 32:1 ratio. I pulled the plug out and it doesn't look great..but sparks. I tried choking it and holding throttle wide open after in case I flooded it. Still no go. So I put a couple shots of starting fuel in it and it fired right up. Drives nice... A little scary with that type of power..first time trying it I ride a wheely trying to start taking off. Scared me badly but got used to it now. After it is warmed up will start in 1 or 2 kicks. But if cold from waiting a couple hours won't start without shooting a couple shot of starting fuel in the head. Any ideas?
