205 is hot for running on the hwy under normal conditions even if you are in 5th gear. Check your fluid levels, oil and coolant. Check the thermostat as well too.

On a 80 degree day on the hwy my liter bike runs at 155-165 only rises in slow traffic or around town.

Sounds to me like something is wrong, excessive heat means excessive wear and tear.

240 + is never good. like NS said check ur fluids and see if those fans come on around 205 to 210 if not maybe ur thermostat is jacked.

Not that I like the dealership at all but you should call and ask them, 240 is freaking hot and bile exhaust is not supposed to glow. Also I am sure there must be a customer support directly from Kawasaki.

I'm with the rest of the guys.I run big high compression pistons and I just go to 185.Check to see if the air filter is in the air box.If a bike runs lean it will do this every time and will also get very hot.And we gotta have some pics,No wait don't.that'll eventially smoke your motor.Check the water pump and thermostat.
