Kx 250 2stroke
Don't know anything about it, it sat in a garage for 3 years and I just bought it. Was wondering if anyone could tell me what I should do and check before driving it? It starts and smokes a lot but the clutch doesn't seem to engage it moves, but when in gear it spins the tire with the clutch pulled back. Any help will be appreciated

For starters you don't drive a motorcycle, you ride it. 2 strokes often do smoke a lot they burn oil for lubrication. When you say the wheel rotates do you mean the wheel is off the ground? Or is the bike rolling forward? Being that the bike sat for 3 years it could be the clutch plates are sticking. If the wheel is off the ground and rotating when the engine is going and in gear that is normal as long as you can stop the wheel with the rear brake and the engine keeps going. If the bike is rolling while the clutch lever pulled in it could be it just needs a jolt, usually putting it in gear will jolt the plates loose, if not it may need freeing up.
For starters is there any oil in the crankcase? Is it in good condition, after 3 years sitting it will need changing. Sounds like maybe you need someone with some experience to give you a hand?
