Just a quick one about the oil change for a 09 klx250s just done oil change couldn't find clutch or transmission to change my question is does It all use the same fluid or is there something I'm missing if so do I need a special oil that does all 3 or just normal engine oil thanks for any help

 

The same normal oil lubricates it all.

 

Normal oil = motorcycle rated oil in this case. NOT car oil.

 

Thanks for that. so only one oil change near the brake pedal and that does all 3 so probably change about every 1000 km if lubricating everything

 

Why change it so often? Unlike a 4 stroke dirtbike, there's enough oil in the case to avoid having to change it every 15 hrs. It's not like your bouncing off the rev limiter non stop with a mud encrusted rad.

 

Nah, 3000-5000 km is more like it. I do 3000-5000 miles on my bikes, one being a KLX650 with about the same amount of oil in it. 47,000 miles and going strong.
