I still believe the reason it signs off after 8500~ is ignition timing.

I must get a size larger jet and I will know for sure but in 250 form it pulled to the rev limiter and it don't now. The motor even sounds lean at that rpm to me. I'm not too upset as it will just about pull your arms out of their sockets at anything below that. I am convinced that it can be made better if not corrected completely.

For what it's worth the only way to run my bike at greater than 8500 rpms is wfo and I am on the main jet it sure won't idle that hard. It may not be as simple as more gas as my next direction would be to poke a big hole in the side of the airbox but it's worth fixing if at all possible.

My 351 pulled to rev limiter with a 124 main, clip 3rd down, open airbox lid, full FMF exhaust (around 3000 ft). It pulls to the limiter with the TM36-68 now on also. Sure, the power drops off at 8500 rpm, but it still goes to the limit in 1st through 3rd gears (no need for me to go to the limiter in higher gears, and really not in the lower gears also but its been done).

Here's your jet conversion chart: https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...e2/#post442610

when in question, check this page for good stuff including a link to the jet chart: https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...q-links-30733/

Mine pulls to the rev limiter as well, disappears after 8.5k in 6th gear stock gearing about 80mph is all she's got with the 351 at 8.5k, the 250 would pull 90 at 9.5k

Makes sense since the 351 puts the power band lower in the rpm range

I have success I got a 145 keihin jet locally and put it in and the bike is much better I know I will hit the point of diminishing returns but I have the next two larger on order from jets r us. With the next size larger jet it does pull and run to the redline now. They are closed till Monday so it will be sometime before I can try again. With the 132 dynojet at my alt. it was lean on top and ran that way, it's better now but there might be a touch more to be had. I just pulled a second gear power wheelie by accident on my test run. The 351 is the single best mod I've done, just sorry now I waited soo long.

My 351 kit arrived today, and my Barnett clutch spring yesterday. I think it is time to start making plans to start my project!

It's too bad that most don't have a Dyno close by like I do. From my Dyno runs, I think most are running their KLX's too lean. It took the #132 jet and the needle raised one extra slot to get the AFR close to correct - it's still a little lean. If I remember correctly, I've gained about 1.5 hp just by ditching the #128 jet for my current setup.

Klxter, what do you consider a correct AFR?

Thanks,
Ron
