1990 zzr600 fuel problem?
Hi
I have just bought an old zzr600 in lovely condition with only 30,000 on the clock. it starts with the choke on and will run with the choke on for a few minutes but dies as soon as you turn it off and the fuel light starts flashing.
it has been stood for years and only done 300 miles in the last 3 years. the bloke i bought it off suggested it could be the carbs need cleaning but i think petrol is not getting through - hence the petrol warning light and it running for a bit on choke . . .
the guy i got it off said he had drained the petrol and put new in but not sure - it looks a bit cloudy . . .
i was going to drain the petrol and drain the carbs but need a manual really.
has anyone got a pdf manual they could spare or could anyone give me some guidance on where to find the carb drain or any other advice?
i have some limited knowledge but have only worked on my kle500 so any tips would be much appreciated.
thanks.
Nathan

i had a similar issue when I got mine, had to remove carbs and clean all the jets, also fitted 2 inline fuel filters, also if the fuel is old it has probably went like jelly in the carb bowls, do you know if the fuel in the tank is low and the bike is on the sidestand the fuel light will also flash?
