HA!!! Omg we spent hours on that engine crank bolt. Totally puzzled that there was no master link. Broke it with 3lb maul and a chisel. Slid chain off and lifted motor out. It's now in my workshop with the head lifted off. Phew. All day with this. Made my timing marks on pulleys and gears except the crank but that's going to be my constant. Of course all done @ #1 TDC.

I HAVE PICTURES TOO. so stay tuned. I'm doing this all on my phone so it's a bit clunky.

thanks jeff. yeah everything is on hold waiting for gasket kit to get here. san fran cleaned up everything really nice i was very pleased. he took a few pictures so they should be up soon. putting everything back together should be the real san fransico "treat". but when shes all said and done i think shell be worth it

 

Having resurrected my bike from a salvage yard, I can tell you it is definitely worth it. The bike you ride will always reflect the amount of passion you put into it. I've said this before: anyone can ride a new bike. When they get a few years on them, it separates the shallow from the deeper commitment owners. Nothing wrong with new bikes; they're GREAT.......but older bikes are more about the "owner." I like that.....
