I think the AMA is with the manufacturers.
Loud bikes are not socially acceptable.
Joe citizen doesn't want to hear them.
You can thank harley & metric cruiser riders and sport bike guys with racing pipes for this.
On the other hand,if they are going to enforce sound regulations the sound limit should be raised a little.
Stock bikes AND cars are too quiet.

Chances are that I may be close to meet the new regulations for the streets (which are 100db at 5k rpm). Which is just under most track standards of 102db.
edit: The limit has officially been lowered yet again it appears for this track.
