De Restricted head pipe KLX250S 06-09
Off Stroker's website " Larry tells us the stock head pipe is actually the same unit as used on Kawasaki's KLX 250. It has abrupt internal welds and its inlet face does not mate well with the exhaust port." (Larry Roeseler)
The pipes internal diameter doesn't match the exhaust port on the cylinder head very well. So I matched it up using the carbon tracks as a guide when I chamfered the exhaust pipe flange. On the other end of the head pipe the overlap inside has been ground to improve the flow of exhaust gases.
So check your head pipe I.D. you will see the difference in the cylinder head exhaust port I.D. This does improve performance over stock and can be felt throughout the powerband.
After modification the flange was tig welded to ensure strength, then the header was polished.
The heat shield mounting nuts were removed by the last owner.
