The problem with adjusting air, is that everything affects other areas. Back pressure would get too high. And everyone would be complaining about not enough heat, what we really needed in this system was air actuated vents, and a relief gate if the back pressure got too high. But like I said there is no money for that, and if there was I would have bought a generator with the money. Does anyone have an extra $50,000 laying around? A 150 KW should do the trick.

 

Yea but I'm dealing with below average people here, you know college students and greenies. So smart they are stupid. I had one get locked in is room because he didn't know how to use the screen door....WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've pretty much elliminated that problem in my home by installing zoned radiant heating. each room gets its own thermostat so unused rooms get turned down untill needed for a guest etc.

 

skip the generator and put solar in - with all the tax rebates and grants you could have it pay for itself in 5 years and get profits every month after that

 

Except it's dark and cloudy and it rains 140 inches a year here.

UPDATE!! Here is a screenshot of the first schedule. I got the OK to order two more for the apartments. I already ran the Cat 5 Cable to just behind the current thermostats. Conduit went from the rooms right to the switch in the mechanical room for that building. How easy was that?

Deej, if you had a static pressure sensor for each room, and a servo controlled dump vent, you could write a control program that would control the room temps and static air pressure right from your office computor for much less than 50K. You just need to apply yourself a little more!........LOL

 

or you could just set the carpets on fire. that would keep it warm.
