Step 2 of the project
Ok well finally got the starter rebuilt.. $150 later. Well we got the bike to turn over for a split second. Upon further examination we found the bike was not getting fuel.. Take off the carbs and they are all gunked up... Gonna take them tomorrow to see how much it will be to rebuild them... [:@] Prob gonna be more then the $150.....
Bike : Free
Stater : $150
Anybody have an estimate on the carb rebuild?
Also in the pics took off the gas tank and not sure if the carb is missing there yet..

RE: Step 2 of the project
I'll tell you, the carbs are very easy to rebuild. I had never rebuilt carbs either until I got my KZ. Basically, all you do is take the bowls off, and replace o-rings. I was really apprehensive about doing it at first, but once I started in, I couldn't believe I was about to actually pay someone to do this.
Just go for it. If you tear them down, and can't figure out how to put'em back together again, then take it to a shop.
BTW: If you haven't bought a service manual yet, now is the time to do it
