So some jackhole...
As fun as rolling the car into the lake might be - believe me when I say towing to south chicago (read: south of 35th street) would be FAR more gratifying. You just drop it off and you would be able to go back over time (a week or 3), and watch it de-compose as more and more parts were missing, it was spray painted a few different colors and tagged, and the windows got bashed in. The fact that it has jersey plates would make it even more of a magnet for abuse (no offense to east coasters, but chitown gang bangers have no love for that "other" big city and the surrounding area
)....
)....
Well if the guy keeps getting your parking spot, take the car to 35th street but tie him up and leave him in the car, problem solved for good. The car and the owner can deteriorate together!
PS, Srob
My company has a project starting up in Whiting Indiana, how far is that from where you live? Maybe we could do some riding. It looks like I may be assigned to that project in the June time frame. I have always wanted to ride up the coast on my 14, of course if you need any cars drowned, I'll be close.

I don't think the situation will get worse, really... and if it does - well - that's what insurance is for
Heheh... and if he does push the issue, I am not at all above pulling his drain plug as suggested above. In my entire time here, I have had 2 neighbors do some stupid stuff, and I reamed some *** over it. Most of them know I was a cop, and I also take the issue to complex management, and they also send a letter to the offenders. I notified management about the issue on Saturday, and they said they would address it, and also reinforced that I was trying to be a nice guy - not that there is any shortage of spots in this complex at all. They said by all means take two spots if I so desire... so - I just may very well do that
Also - if I do have his car yanked again, and deliver it to south Chicago - there will be no bringing it back - even though it is just a POS Accent.
Call it cowardly I guess - but I call it being a dumbass in the first place and not using common frackin sense to not park your car in a spot where someone else entirely might happen to have a vehicle already located - be it a triciycle, motorcycle or an 80 foot boat. He can blow it out his ***
and I mean that in the nicest possible way. If he is smart, he won't frack with me any further - but if he does - I will clear my desk of all my other cases, and spend the next six months of my life in making his a living hell.
Heheh.

The worst that can happen is he can be a Psycho and bust a cap in your ***.
Well... I think I *did* try to work it out peacefully once... as in - I didn't ever park my bike in his spot, or double-park my car in the same spot as him... or do anything else that demonstrated a lack of clear common sense... no? I mean - really - how much of a frac kin rocket scientist do you have to be to NOT park in a space that is otherwise occupied by a vehicle - or anything for that matter? Do you routinely look for parking spots at the grocery store that just happen to have a stray cart in them, and ignore the 15 surrounding spots that are wide open? We both know the answer to that one.
Sorry - I just don't think other people's lack of braincells is my problem - nor should they be able to make it my problem. This guy has seen me double park my car with the bike for 2 years... and he has ONLY ever seen my car parked there with the bike. As far as I am concerned - I helped to educate the guy. Just as we all learn not to do things as riders the first time we frack something up (go too hot into a curve as a new rider, apply brakes when we realize, standing the bike up and end up crossing the double yellow instead of leaning harder into your turn and scrubbing off speed... or locking up the rear brake because you were depending on it too much (like back in your pedal bike days), and it starts to sidestep out on you, and you catch it JUST in time to avoid high-siding the bike, etc)... There are lessons learned every day. Friday was his day.
Think how he would have felt when he came out to work on Monday when I saw him... and instead - we were still sharing a spot... and I was doing my usual thing...
Put my helmet, gloves, backpack, glasses, and keys on the hood of his car (yes, I do this with mine, every morning) while I take the cover off the bike. Then I put the lock and cover on the hood of the car while I start it, and carry the cover over to my car and put it in the trunk. As I am walking back and start putting on my jacket - that would have been about the time he walked out... finds all this crap on the hood of his car while the bike is warming up. What do you think would have happened then? Then HE would have been legitimately pissed cause I am using his car as a dressing shelf, and he certainly would have started saying something (read: face-to-face confrontation) to which I would have responded not to double park with my bike. Undoubtedly - a shouting match would result, and later that day he would whine that I scratched his car (haven't scratched my car yet by doing this), blah blah blah... No thanks. I avoided confrontation, made my point crystal clear, educated the guy a bit, and cost him some money (part of the "education").
I dunno... I just don't like having my daily life and property compromised because other people lack common sense, and I have an extremely high expectation of other people to have said common sense. Perhaps that is a flaw for me... I dunno - but I sure hope not. If so - please stop the world - I want to get off.

Srob,
I think that due to your ever so logical mind, you do expect everybody to be as respectful as you. It is Ok to expect that but in the real world, there are just a lot of people that do not understand consideration for other peoples property, or manners in general. But being KF members we must all be good citizens, and uphold our fine image regardless of what others do to us. It is our duty to look out for our fellow human beings regardless of their lack of understanding of how to cope with society.
THAT'S WHY WE SHOULD ALL GET SOME OF THOSE SHOTGUN FLASHLIGHTS, STICK THEM UP THOSE AZZHOLES RECTUM, AND PULL THE DAM PIN. THAT WOULD TEACHEM TO TAKE OUR FRICKIN PARKING SPOTS. AND IF THAT DOESNT STOP THEM WE'LL KICK THEIR FREAKIN DOGS TO DEATH. WE'LL PUT OUT CONTRACTS ON THEIR FREAKIN PET PARAKEETS AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT THEY OWN. DAM IT! JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS MAKES ME SO MAD I JUST WANT TO GO KILL SOMETHING.
I feel better now.
