I took off for lunch and drove to a couple of the rivers within a couple of miles of each other, just to see how high the water was.

Then I drove to another river, the Bogachiel, which was listed on the Seattle news as one of the rivers to watch for going over the flood stage, and I think it did.

This is a picture of the boat launch that I usually go down. Even if it stopped raining right now, it will be at least a week before its fish-able again.


Handicap fishing platform. The water is about 6 inches below the deck. Usually its 5 ft below.








The river actually created another channel, this is amazing. Mother nature at its finest.






And finally back up to work, our pond is at high run-off, been like this for 48 hrs now. Its only done this like 6 times in 14 years.

wow deej.. thats pretty bad.. i wish i oulda got some shots of a WHILE back near where i used to live (outside pittsburgh) when we had massive snow, then massive rain and warm weather.

the one creek ("loyalhanna" ..spelling?) that comes out of ligonier, Pa., is usually 20-25' below a junction road for Rt. 30 east and west. that heads off to derry pa. that week, it was about 3'.

we haven't gotten hammered so far here.. i'm surprised

last year round this time we got hit hard with rain, theres a tunnel for a creek in my neighborhood that goes under a street. the creek's usually between 2-3ft wide and 6in-1ft deep and remains 5ft below the street in the aluminum tunnel. well these rains made that creek (in my little neighborhood) about 15feet wide, 2feet over the road and it took the pavement, lots of trees and the tunnel with it there were also lots of yards with a few feet of water just sitting there. luckily i live on a hill so i didnt see a drop of it here in my basement

 

That sucks, the wet season is just getting started.
