Actually a couple of weeks ago my wife said that before you go on the trip we should open the sleeping bag up and see if you can actually fit inside it. So there we were on the front yard and I get inside and she zips it up, and then the laughing starts. At first its her, then after telling her to stop laughing I start laughing and pretty soon we are both laughing. Oh well it works and is small and yes I do look like a sausage in it.

deej check out this site for food ideas including baking bread, cake, etc inside your pot

http://www.freezerbagcooking.com/thefauxbaker.htm

the multi fuel stoves work, but from experience i prefer the canister stoves.

for tent you should also check out hammock tents like www.hennessyhammock.com

compact summer sleeping bags are awesome, so lite.

i'm taking a group of people on a 3 day 36 mile hike along the appalachian trail in a week and half. need to start prepping my meals to dehydrate.

OMG that hammock is the coolest thing ever. Of course if you don't know where you are going that might not work when you get there and there are no trees.

you can still set it up as a tent with sticks or treking poles.

but as a hammock - its the most comfortable campingi've ever done - last time i slept like a baby for 11 hours... try doing that sleeping on rocks and twigs.

Don't forget chapstick. I went on a week long horse pack trip and forgot it and my lips were killing me when I got back.

When you are on a long horse ride with no chap stick, just rub horse crap on your lips, it will keep you from licking them and they wont get chapped!
An trick an old indian scout taught me...........LOL
