As much as it breaks my heart to say this, it doesn't appear that westerners care about terrorism anymore. The UK released the Lockerbie bomber and Americans gripe about the 9/11 mastermind getting water poured down his nose. All this while the top official in the Justice Department is preparing to prosecute the CIA interrogators for blowing cigar smoke in the face of a terrorist and calling it torture. Also, let's not forget Van Jones who resigned from the Obama administration this week for signing a petition claiming 9/11 was an 'inside job' among other things.

We can no longer discern the good guys from the bad guys. But at least for one day a year we can "take a cup of kindness..."

It's a "US News & World Report" (i.e. 8th grade education) world. If something lasts longer than 3 minutes, this country forgets about it.
Take 15 seconds from your day and remember the hundreds of lives that were lost through no fault of their own. Many more are in harm's way in Iraq and Afghanistan right now. Freedom isn't free.
I'll get off my soap box.

I spent 15 years in combat communications(in tent next to the Army)in the Air National Guard; Since 9/11 I have been on Active orders and my new Unit is part of homeland defence. Trust me when I say this:

We have not
forgotten and will stay vigilant

Thank you for you service, I really do appreciate what you and everyother service member is doing for this country. However I agree with the previous statement, I think Americans in general have forgotten.

yes I think the public has moved on, but I do have some relatives on the East Coast and the feelings there are "alive and well"---it is burned into too many memories.

out here on the left coast it was all media.........not the pure raw power of first hand experience.
some people I have talked to in the last 8 yrs said it took days just to believe it wasn't a hollywood production and then it only "sank-in" because they couldn't catch a flight and travel.

Well I read somewhere that the next attack would be in some heavily crowded places like malls as well as some rural areas.........who really knows. But if they come to my kneck of the woods, they will be greeted by a hail storm of lead. Then I'll kick their asses, the ones that survive will get tortured the Worlok way, and it does not include water and cigar smoke. The only water they will see is Lake Eerie at the end of the session!
I have not forgotten!
