I agree with Moto-Mike to a point. However, if you do some checking, I think you will find that there are some tires out there that will work just fine on your bike. For example, you could get a set of Bridgestone Battleaxe BTO14's, which is an ultra high performance radial, "Z" rated for speeds upto 149+ MPH in a 16" front, and 18" rear. If you want a wider rim, then go for a wider back wheel. But don't forget that your bike was designed and built to spec by Kawasaki. If they thought it would be better on a 17" wheel, it would have one. If you do change wheel sizes, make sure you accomodate for them on other areas of the bike.
P.S. Bigger is not always better. The bigger the tire, the greater the rolling resistance and the lower the top speed. Sure a fatter tire might improve cornering grip, but a narrower tire will be more responsive and handle better. Just some things to think about. Good luck.

my email notifacation must be messed up here i was thinking no one had replyed since my last post and here the post has run off and left me. i checked the tires one it and want to use the ones that are one it now but can find NO ONE THAT SELLS THEM, it has metzler sportec m1's front and rear. no one seems to have them in 16 18 combo and ive lost contact with the dude that traded it to me so i have no clue where to get them. and if this thing is really that poor a ride then i know where a katana is setting like the one i used to have for $2100 it might be cheaper to just buy it than replace the forks and all one this one. does anyone have anything GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THIS BIKE ANY REDEMING TRAITS AT ALL? i ride 2 up almost all the time and i figure the since it was a 750 it could handle it but if its gonna hurt the ride even more then i guess im screwed. THOUGHTS?

Also the reason i was considering the 17 inch rims wasnt for wider tires it was for a larger tire selection.

hmm, try this link for the pirelli sport demon. You are correct, that last link did not help me either. (it was there yesterday though! lol) Another try at a link. http://www.us.pirelli.com/web/catalo...TDEMON_STR.xml

edit: It is a good street tire from what I have seen, and will carry a lighter bike like a 250 on the track. As mentioned above, the dunlop qualifier tires are a good tire as well if you can get the correct size for your needs.
