What should I expect from new sprockets??
It is coming close to winter and "too cold to ride" time here in the midwest. My rear tire is bald and my chain is stretched to the max and starting to make that swishing noise as I move. I am wanting to change my sprockets when I get a new chain. I'm considering doing the minus one tooth sprocket up front and plus two tooth sprocket for the rear. What advantages or disadvantages should I expect with these sprocket changes? I've read that these changes will increase acceration and easier wheelies. How will it effect my gas mileage? I commute80 miles every day.Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

It will be a whole new bike, tons more low and mid range. You will loose a little top end but who the hell reaches out to 180+ anyway. Your milage will drop a little bit too.
Bottom line is that -1+2 is the best bang for your buck mod you will ever do. You will not be disapointed.
oh yea and the wheelies get eaiser too.

hahaha, reminds me of that movie dumb and dumber riding that scooter!
But yes, fresh powder is not bad, but I will not ride on ice. I am too chicken.

Thanks for the info! My fingers and toes get too cold after about 20 miles on the highway when it gets below 45 degrees. I know, I'm a wuss. I'll probably buy a chain and sprocket combo this winter.

hell yea 45 is way to cold. I much prefer the heat. Although I used to love taking the quad out in the snow and frozen lakes back in UT. Lakes were a riot, smooth and flat you could go some crazy speeds and slide forever.
