Default STARTING PROBLEM!!

HELLO FRIENDS..I'M HAVING TROUBLE STARTING MY 93 ZX7R..I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY FOR IT AND SOON AS I HOOKED IT UP TO MY BIKE , IT RAN FINE..I HOOKED IT UP TO A BATTERY CHARGER FOR BOUT A COUPLE WEEKS AND TRIED TO START IT AND IT'S MAKING A BUZZING SOUND FROM THE IGNITER CDI BOX..I'M NOT SURE HOW IT HAPPENED...MAYBE CAUSE I HAD THE CHOKE ON OR I TRIED TO START IT WHILE THE BATTERY CHARGER WAS HOOKED UP TO IT? I DON'T KNOW.I APPRECIATE THE HELP GUYS THX.

you should look at the wires going to the cdi and the starting relay. you may have fried some wires. i have a 92 ZX7 and no problems but your same problem happened to my atv and a wire going to the starter relay was fried through

sounds like your starter relay put a screwdriver ON THE PLASTIC PART OF THE CASE AND TRY TO START IT. if the buzzing is coming from there that it's most likely the relay, another thing you can do is short the two posts of the relay with a screw driver while holding down the start button simultaiously.

Was that a battery charger or battery tender? If you left a charger (constant flow regardless of battery level) on for a couple weeks, you may have literally cooked your battery, even at very low amps. If youconnected a tender you should be OK. Those little batteries can't take too much external juice. If you can take the plug strip off the top of the battery, see what the inside looks like.

did you get it figured out yet? you can test if your battery is toas by charging it overnight let it sit for a day and check the voltage >11.3v good to go if not it makes a great door stop.
