This is my first post and I want to thank you for the many things that I'm Reading and learning about the ZX7s....

I had a local shop dismount the slicks my PM's and I found a little confirmation that they did, in fact, come from where I was told they came from.







Life is good.

 

This project isn't dead. I've had some things going on that commanded all my attention so I haven't been able to get after this like I wanted. I actually wanted to be done by now... Anyway, a machinist friend handed me these today:

 

My machinist delivered a couple parts to me:



The ones in the center are the old bushings from the rear suspension link. The ones on the outer sides are the new ones my machinist made from titanium rod. These three parts saved nearly 1/2 pound.

 

My machinist is also my welder (and brother). He dropped these off too:



They're not finished yet. That's my job. These are the side fairing stays for the race bodywork. This is a quick release set up that will have a quick release pin holding the 2 parts together and you just pull it out to drop the fairings..

 

I had a little time today to get on one of the lathes in the machine shop and whittle out this little thing:









It's made from 7075-T6511 aluminum.
Now I need to find time to make the other three and their locking collars.

 

Boredom is a very bad thing for me....
