clutch, shift linkage problem
heya guys. i am new to this forum, and thought i'd start by saying hello.
i bought a 1994 zx750r on saturday, and i really do like it: but i have some problems.
i need to know, how to adjust the shift linkage (previous owner had it apart, and said he wasn't sure if he installed it properly)
second, and my biggest concern is the clunk i get when i shift. (i have done a "search" on this site, but to no avail). the bike will also pull forward with the bike in first gear,( and revving the throttle)and the clutch lever fully pulled in,,,any ideas? it also will fall out of second gear when i am giving the bike the gears.
the chain has about 1" of slack in it. not sure if that helps.
the previous owner also had a new clutch installed, but not sure if a mechanic did this, or if he did it himself.
any help would be greatly appreciated. i am fairly mechanical, but gonna take it to a dealer soon.
thanx in advance

RE: clutch, shift linkage problem
mine is 4 years earlier and my linkage broke, had to fabricate one (takes to long to order), but after some riding it was hard into gear with no neutral; looked at the clutch fuild resovoirand it was empty!BLED the clutch(with new fluid)and it took a minute then wah lah no more creeping in gear. Phew thought I had really F'd something up too. Just a thought I'm not certified in these things I am new too.
