i had the same problem when i had my bike in japan...i had the case split and both sets of gears removed..and sent them to R&D motorsport in clearwater florida...they replaced all the clips, put a racing cut on the shift forks and gear dogs..got it back together and it shift like the new generation bikes...winter project indeed...get them heads port and polished while it's apart
