2001 ZX7 electrical question
2001 ZX7 - is there a "main" fuse anywhere on the bike? The ones under the seat and relay all have a specific purpose it looks like.
The bike was running (idling to warm up) fine, then it just went dead. With the key "on" its just dead , not a single light at all. If there's a main fuse then its blown, but I cant seem to find a main fuse anywhere.
I have 12 volts at the battery, and 12 volts up to the starter relay.

found the wiring diagram, found the main fuse. It's intact. So I'm going to see if I have voltage to the white wire at the keyswitch. Hope it's just the keyswitch, maybe I can clean it up

well I checked it all out with my meter this evening, and the wiring diagram. While doing my checking, I had the meter connected across the battery, and with the keyswitch off, I had 12.85 volts, as soon as I turned the keyswitch on the voltage at the battery dropped drastically to only .95 volts. That battery is toast. Just for grins I got the jumper cables out and connected it up to my S-10. Everything on the bike came right on as normal when I turned on the keyswitch.
Just proves the old electrical axiom- just because you have voltage showing on the battery doesnt mean its good.
