I remember when I was young, and invincible, I hated gear, or anything that had to do with my choice in safety, but now at 42, you won't catch me without as much as I can wear to keep me as safe as I can be. I remember here in Washington when there was no helmet law, and then when they changed it I grumbled a bit, and yes I know some folks on here hate being told what to do, but after seeing some bad stuff, and hearing about how if only they had a helmet on, I have not complained since. I don't think any of us kids had helmets growing up, and we did stuff that I don't even like to watch now
Oh well you either get smarter with old age, or you just become a donor. In fact that's what my doctor said when I told him I bought a bike, he said "oh you mean a donorcycle?" I said come on doc don't be like that, we both smiled. Its all good.

I will have to get him gloves, jacket and probably the safety belt when I give him a ride.

Search the posts. I had posted one a while back that was specifically mad e for small children and it had a pad between the rider & passenger with a bar to hold on to. My hard drive crashed on my computer and I had all that info saved on it so I can't help you at the moment. Do a search for child safety harness or belt.
Here it is; I found it: http://www.childridingbelt.com/enghome.htm
