are swingarm sliders really necessary?
I already have spiked bar ends for sliders, Is getting the fairing and swingarm overkill? Can I just get the swingarm sliders instead of the fairing sliders since I already have the bar ends installed?
Overkill ......not sure about that .You plan on using a rear stand ?If so I would recommend the swingarm sliders .I do not trust putting mine up with the non-spools .It's really up to you as to what you want to put on your bike .Personally I put frame and swingarm sliders on mine .Haven;t changed the factory barends though .
+1 on the swing arm sliders like mike said their great for putting the bike on the rear stand. More for the stand than protection from crash damage.
The swingarm sliders serve 2 purposes; as sliders and as spools also for the rear stand. If I had a choice, I would get the Frame sliders first, then bar ends and swingarm sliders last but if you ever dropped or crashed your bike (hopefully never), the sliders will save a lot of damage to your bodywork, tank & frame. You can get a full matching set for under $200 from 58 Cycle or less on ebay individually (May not be matching though).
I don't know if im just dumb or what but are spools and swing arm sliders diffrent? I thought swing arm sliders stuck out more then spools. Are they the same or is there a diffrence?
aszrael , I just put mine on a couple of weeks ago . When I was shopping I didn't really notice any differances ..........but .......that's not to say there isn'ta differance
Get the frame sliders... Mine saved my body work when I got rear ended. I recently got swing arm sliders, and I can see where they could save the aluminum from getting all dented up.
