here in ontario i know you have to tell them about a colour change on a car or truck so i'm assuming it's the same for a bike. it's like a $10 fee. but if you don't tell them about it and wreck your bike, insurance won't cover it.

New Brunswick is the same way - but I'm not sure if they charge extra to change it. My car registration said that the car was red, but it is actually purple. So when I went to renew my registration, I told them that it wasn't red. They changed it no questions asked.

I can see both sides. The color matter when it comes down to the description of the bike and what your insurance company has on file, however the VIN # doesn't change. If i decided to paint my bike another color, the VIN stays exactly the same. .. of course. So it's a toss up. So like everyones been saying, check your state motor statues.
