Please Help! Rebuilt bike and now it's dieing..
When I wrecked my bike 7 weeks ago and broke all those bones. I was very eager to get better and get back riding..
Well my zx6r is rebuilt.. I left all the plastics off and have been riding it street fighter style..
Here is my problem
If it's been sitting for a long time it starts right up and runs. KInda like when you leave a batter alone and it charges a lil bit on it's own..
Twice today while riding it would start to sputter and continue to get worse till it just shut off.
The first time I had to wait 20 mins to drive about a mile before it shut off again... long process to get home..
I finally got back and took off the stator cover cause the current one was messed up pretty bad shape cause of the wreck..
So I decided to replace it with the one I bought last month..
I found the coil drowning in oil.. Bike had to much oil in it from teh oil change. So I got it back to normmal level.. cleaned off the coil.. Here is a pic of the coil though after it's clean.. You can see a couple of the contacts are worn down..
So I cleaned it all up put it back together and it rode beautiful all day..
Then tonight on the way home it did it again.. I only had to wait about 10 mins before I could ride again.. I unplugged my lights to get more juice cause I'm guessing my alternator is going bad..
I hope not.. Cause I"m broke.. Any suggestions...

No heat issues.. I'm about to ride it back to my storage shed and take the stator cover off again and see if the coil is wet again..
I changed the plugs and the oil.. I epected it to be running like a dream..

Almost sounds like your bat is not holding a charge. In stall new bat and you should clean that alternator to get the oil off of it, use something like simply green to get rid of the oil, not a thinner or gas that may harm the lacquer on the coil.

I used degreaser to clean the coil yesterday...
If the battery is not holding a charge why does it start up like it's fully charged if I let it sit all night? or is that just the messed up way batteries are?
