Default Rebuilt my bike, from the frame up!

In the process of putting on a new 331cc kit from Bill, I decided to pull the bike down and re-paint the frame to stop some rust. I live near the coast in Japan, so rust was everywhere on an 8 year old bike.

Took my time, got as much rust off as I could, and then painted it all gloss black with rattle-can Rustoleum. Wire brushed all the aluminum pieces, and re-packed the bearings.

Starting to resemble a motorcycle again.

On it's own two wheels again.

Wiring and fenders on, but the rear is not cut yet, so this is only to see how it fits so far. Stock fender went on after the photo.

Finally, she is ready to ride.

Notice the stainless brake line, courtesy of Bill Blue, connected to a KX250 master cylinder and caliper. Also, the rear spring was changed out for a Race Tech 6.4kg/mm and the front were changed for .46kg/mm.
Couple more photos in my Picasa album, as well as full size of these. Check them out.

Very nice, the black frame looks good. I guess you know if all of your bolts are tight=)

Nice work, those wheels like sharp, did you just buy smaller ones to make it into like a super moto?

Thanks. 17" Excel wheels come stock on the 2001 KLX250 D-Tracker over here in Japan, which is what I have. They have been offering supermoto bikes here since 1998. Stock wheels were 17X3 and 17X3.50 (in the first photo), the final photo wheels are 17X3 and 17X4.25 from an '05 D-Tracker.

Did you have any fitment issues with the wider rear tire?
