True I would imagine they of course have bolt cutters with them but not a bad idea at all. Could hire a group of bums you give them warm meals they'll die for that bike.

It is true, a good pair of bolt cutters could cut a chain. The idea is to make it as unappealing as posable to someone who wants to steal your bike. I don't care what you do put on an alarm, chain it, keep it in the garage, lo-jack; someone who wants it bad enough is going to get it. Anything you do to take up a thieves time is going to discourage them from that target. They don't want to linger in a place where they don't belong. The longer they are there the better the chance of their getting caught.
Although, my dad dose have a sign that reads " IF YOU ARE FOUND HERE AT NIGHT YOU WILL BE FOUND HERE IN THE MORNING", maybe I should get one of those.

the chain is only used as a detterent, the alarm is 2nd line...

if a person is going to steal your bike, and really wants to, he will...

I agree with you and it is a sad place to be when you always have to be looking over your shoulder.

As I said before; go buy a Honda Rebel bike cover and put it on your bike. Heck, you'll be able to leave the keys in it and it'll still be there. LOL.
