Default Need help!!-- Installing rs-5

Hey- Installing a yosh rs-5 on my 05 zx6r,

Well, ran into a snag,

what do i do with the cables that are connected to the stock exhuast?

They are the ones that run up under the seat, and then connect to the stock muffler

thanks,

R

you should have a servo stop that replaces the gear on the servo motor and you can just remove those cables.

ok!,

I installed the slip on, and disconected the cables

I'm mising the servo stopper, gonna go down to the sealtership to see if they have one for sale, i did see the Muzzy unit (online) for 49.99 i might go for that

also, does it just replace the pully on top? or the whole motor unit?

Is it easy to install...? or are their any tricks to it?

thanks for the help!

really easy to install, just dont start the bike or it will cause the fi light to come on. you can put spacers on the end of the cables and leave them on there. do a search, there is a how to on this. the stop just replaces the pully gear that on there now, unbolt it from the servo motor, pull off and rebolt the stop on there. go with the muzzy one.

went to the local Kawi shop, ordered the Muzzy one- total of 53.00 (ship+tax inc) should be here middle of next week

Well, got a little itch to fire her up with the Rs5 on, and the FI light came on,

should I just disconeect the battery to remove the code? or, will it be more complicated than that?

Did you get you RS-5 used? Just wondering cause if this is new, you should've gotten the FI Light pieces with it.
