Different circumstances require different launch styles. If you're in no hurry and are just loping along, simultaneous clutch feathering with a very small throttle application gets me moving with a minimum of drama or slip. There's no need to rev it up that much before finding the clutch's friction point. It's just something your hands get trained to do over time.

If you're in a hurry, more RPMs before the friction point will get you off the line quicker. Certainly don't give it too much. A ZX6R will flip over backwards or spin out with too much throttle. It's nothing like riding on dirt.

The only thing I've read about the slipper clutch is that it allows high rpm downshifts without chirping the rear tire, and possibly losing too much grip at the rear. I'm not sure it has any effect on acceleration.
