When i put my exhause on my bike it threw flames for a while (near WOT) I thought it was running rich but after a little research i found that it was the packing and oil they use for shippingin the exhaust burning off. After about 200 miles it stopped. I'd say ride it for awhile and see if it continues. If it continues than i would be worried about it.

a lil backfire when you are ringing it out espeically with new mods isnt a bad thing, now if it is constantly shooting flame when you let off the throttle thats a problem. i wouldnt worry about it too much unless it doesnt ease off anyway what part of florida are you in

Do you BMC'ers recommend the race or street filter? I dont really plan on track days and mainly street riding/sport "touring" aka casual long rides. Which one for those?
For the street, use the street filter for t's better filtration. The Race filter is least restrictive but won't filter as well on the street and will allow dirt and sand in. We ran the racebike without a filter and lost HP on the Dyno. The filter helps straighten out the air and reduce turbulence.
