This is a edit from a previous post for the ECU mod ............................technically it doesn't ' add' horsepower but it bypasses a restriction which Kawi designed , it basically opens up the exhaust a bit by bypassing a EPA sound suppressor , I haven't done the mod .

my 06 runs around 165-175 on the freeway and between 200-225 depending on the outside temp and the traffic.

synthetic oil will drop your opperating temp about 10 deg (fyi)

 

I would like you all to study Royal Purple's Oil for Motorcycles. They are said to run between 20-60 Degrees Farenheit cooler at all times. I watched a pretty interesting test done on a Harley which showed the lowered temp points in several point in the engine.

To anyone who doesn't know about Royal Purple, it truly is the king of all oils other than only one potion of Amsoil that barely surpasses. The amount on a car engine from Royal Purple on the actual cylinder walls at 400,000 miles is equivelant to the damage done by BMW used Castrol Synthetic at 40,000 miles. Yes it sounds absolutely impossible, but when I get back to the shop, if any of you are interested I will hunt down that PDF file which compares about 20 or more different synthetics (Even Red Line) and it seems to be a way better product than anything out there. We had a guy working for us a while back the rebuilt racing boat engines, and regularly would take a block down to the wash bay, soak it down with motor degreaser and pressure wash it off. Well, one day he brought to 454 blocks down and soaked them down and PW (Pressure Washed) them, but the oil wasn't coming all the way off and was still beading. He soaked it and let it sit, then soaked it again and scrubbed the crap out of it, then soaked it again and PW'd it again. It would not come off. He called the guy and said "what the hell did you use in this thing" and the guy said he used Royal Purple. Well, we started studying, and we even found information years ago from a nascar racing team that almost all nascar driver use Royal Purple during testing to coat the block, then drain it and put in their sponsors oil, so that the RP would have coated and sunk into the materials. It trule is amazing stuff and interesting to study. No, I dont work for RP, we own a body shop and a dealership and an EZ-GO and Yamaha Golf Cart dealership, and we do now carry RP because of what we learned and no one in our area sells it.

With this said, I just got my bike, and if anyone is interested, I will video when I put the Royal Purple in there to show what benefits in the temp are (if any) after the video shows the bike running for a pretty good period of time and then show the temp to prove what this stuff does. What they claim is for once true from a company. I am new to this forum so I dont know if I will even remember how to get back here tomorrow (lol) but it shouldnt be a problem to find my way back into this room to see if anyone is interested in the info to see if it may help our bikes a little bit. I am very curious to find out myself.

If anyone knows how to do a headlight conversion to run 2 low beams with a Xenon Conversion Kit, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. This bugs the crap out of me having only one eye.
