Hooray for Craigs' List. Sold the DRZ to the 1st caller. There were a total of 7 interested callers. (..and the dealers said that the market was "really slow on the DRZ's". Yeah, right!!

For those that are interested, the buyer actually gave me $110 more than I was asking, ($3,440). So, he brought me $3,550 in cash. I bought the '07KLX for $4,299, out the door. I also bought the added 4 years warranty coverage for $480. (They wanted $860!!) Deeg said that he thought that I should buy the extra warranty policy.

I've commenced the "mod" process already. Don't know how to up load the pictures... if you're interested then go to my blog.

 

Hope you got a couple extra thousand laying around! I bought a 2007 klx 300 and was pretty disapointed with the bike in stock form.I hope yours is better than mine was!

 

Power isn't everything

 

Congrats! This is one fun bike and step by step it just gets better and better. It's amazing how many different people have modded this bike to there needs. It really is quite capable.

 

Well I guess everyone has their own perspective. Have you added a pumper carb yet? In my experience, an FCR35 makes the singlebiggest difference on the KLX300. I would recommend another carb if you lived in Japan, but the FCR is king in the states. The KLX300 is all about low end torque and short shifting.It isn't like the racing bikes which start to come into their own athigher RPMs. The KLX is all about ridability,reliability andpower down low where is comes in handy on the tight, technical stuff. If you want an MXer, you picked the wrong bike.

sinkoman,i went to kahuku this weekend it was a little muddy but fun,i'm going to take apart my forks this weekend and change my spring.the stock spring is a little soft for me.i didn't mean that the klx didn't have enough power, i meant that it needed a little re finement.It just needs a little work,and a little more money!
