For the street there is no comparison, the Gixxer 1000 was outstanding. Actually any of the liter bikes would be awesome on the street. The 6R leaves allot to be desired on the street after coming off a liter bike. You do not realize what you had until it’s gone.

I bought the 6R mostly for track days so I knew what I was getting into.

The 6R is way more fun on the track compared to the Gixxer 1K. I am not battling the 1K constantly spinning up the rear tireand the front end lifting to the sky.

When I do ride on the street with friends who are all still on liter bikes I have to push the 6R extremely hard to hang with them. While I can get themin areas of tight chained corners as soon as there is open space or sweepers they are long gone.

I would wait and see what happens in the liter bike world for 08 as the rumor is Kawi and Honda are going to come out with some real rippers.

A 1000 CC bike is called a liter bike.

Make sure you get allot of seat time if you plan to jump to a liter bike next year.

Liter bikes are not friendly or forgiving and will bite back hard.Little things likegiving it a little to much throttle in a corner you can loose the rear in a heartbeat.

I am not going to preach and by all means do what makes you happy but my advice is no way on moving up to a liter bike only after 1 year of seat time.

It looks just like this except I made it myself out of PVC pipe. You do not need to do any cutting like you need to do for the brg. It was not hard.
