Default "Help! My Bike Won't Start!"

Ok, my dad ran my 06, 636 out of gas. Now that it has a full tank it still says its out of gas and will not start. From what im told the bike does not have a reserve so I am lost as to why it is doing this. If someone could please help me I would appreciate it. Im new to the bike community so all advice would be greatly appreciated.

How long did you crank it? It may need to get more gas through the lines.

Man, I cranked it for at least two minutes. Not straight mind you but off and on for two minutes. I was told these bikes dont have reserves, but I dont know if that is true. Anyway, she still wont start

Try cycling the fuel pump on and off a few times. Turn the key all the way on (should hear fuel pump), then turn the key back off, then repeat a few times. Try starting it after about 3 cycles.

You are right these bikes do not have a reserve, instead we have the fuel light. When that light comes on there is about one gallon left in the tank or about 40 miles roughly if your bike is stock.

Spray some starting fluid into the Ram-Air inlet while you crank it. It should fire right up.
