Just hit a totally unforseen snag in my head swap project... The cam sensor from my 03 won't fit into the 06 head, as its too long. The 06 head has a shorter base for the sensor to sit in, and as a result the 03 sensor bangs right into the ex cam, about a 1/8 inch from seating. That doesn't even include the tab on the cam that the sensor reads as it rotates.
Make sure, if you want to do this swap, that the new head comes with the cam sensor or plan to buy one.
Dammit, I was hoping to run the bike today!

 

I have a spare 05-06 sensor Imay be willing tosell. Let me know.

 

Should be ok, found one already. Please tell me that the 05-06 sensor will plug into the 03 wire harness...

 

I believe it's the same connector.
