2003 zx-6rr clutch or 2nd gear problem?
Hi! I have a 2003 zx-6rr 19400 miles and i have a big problem and i don't know what it is. Only in 2nd gear when i accelerate hard it seems like the clutch is slippin 3 or 4 times. sometimes slipps around 6000 rpm and sometimes at 9000-12000 rpm. It is the clutch or it's the 2nd gear damaged?
i need help please !!!

Could be the second gear. Usually the clutch will slip right when the power increases with the torque which is around 8,000 RPM. Does it do it in first too? If you notice in other gears, it's the clutch. If not then it's the transmission. Second gear is the one that goes bad the most often because it's easy to miss the shift going from 1st thru neutral then to 2nd. That is also why Factory Pro made the shift star to combat this problem. To double check, you can put a magnet on the drain plug and ride the bike ordrain your oil and remove the oil pan to check for pieces of the gear at the bottom. I chipped part of a second gear tooth on my 03 to and it was stuck to my drain plug. It's always a good idea to have a magnet on your drain plug anyway.
